Behind The Scenes:
Most of the action in this film took place in the old hockey arena in Pittsburgh. We built a duplicate exterior top of the arena’s dome roof and an exact match of the crow’s nest and scoreboard that was suspended over the ice rink which were used in the climatic fight scenes. There were over 400 elements in the crow’s nest that had to be matched. For most of the crowd scenes in the arena, we manufactured 15,000 life-size photo cutouts to fill the seats and put a few hundred extras in the front rows. Amazingly, it worked like a charm.
