Behind The Scenes:

One of my earliest Production Designs was filmed in the backwoods of North Carolina.  We found a perfect existing wharf on Lake Lure and built a weather beaten General Store next to it.  Visitors thought it had been there for years.  So did the cast.  For the reclusive hero, I designed a giant freeform tent structure that was built around a 1905 steam tractor I found rusting in a field.  Due to actor schedules we blew up and burned down most of this compound for one critical scene, then rebuilt it to shoot the earlier part of the story.
